Metal Engineering & Treatment Co., better known as METCO was formed in 1962. It started as a partnership firm by four fresh graduate engineers of Bengal Engineering College (currently BESU), Shibpur, who turned into entrepreneurs by their sheer courage and determination and could make it possible in blossoming and emerging into a large family which is popularly known today as METCO Industries. The management of the company now rests with a Board of Directors controlled by the two founder members.

The firm was converted into a Private Limited Company in the year 1982 under the name & style of Metal Engineering & Treatment Co. Pvt. Ltd. registered under the Indian Companies Act 1956.

From a very modest beginning in 1962, METCO, a Kolkata based independent organization specializing in various fields of engineering & technology, now holds the leading position in the field of structural bearing technology in India and neighboring countries. METCO Industries is prominent name in innovative design and manufacturing.
